Teaching my Peers 3

Interview with K (swing/1st cover one of Frankie Valli's Four Seasons from 'The Jersey Boys')

Q. Tell me about your publicity photos.

A. We still use black and white head-shots.  They tend to be set outside rather than in a studio now.  A professional photographer is used, despite personal digital cameras and photoshop being available.  We use A4 size.

Q. Do you look in 'The Stage' for auditions?

A. No, I rely on my agent.  It is thought that 'The Stage' is used by people who do not have agents.

Q. Do you mind my asking what percentage agents generally take?

A. For theatre it is about 10%.  For TV and film it is usually around 12.5 - 15%.

Q. Do you submit your photo and other relevant details to 'Spotlight'?

A. Yes.

Many thanks!
